Bok Choy with Oyster Sauce

A simple yet flavorful dish with tender-crisp bok choy drizzled with a savory oyster sauce glaze.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 lb Shanghai bok choy, cut in half
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Instructions
 

  1. Cut the bok choy in halves, wash thoroughly under cold water, and drain.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add salt.
  3. Add the bok choy and blanch for 30-45 seconds until they turn bright green. Drain and set aside.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, add oil and garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Turn the heat to low, pour in the sauce mixture, and stir until it thickens.
  6. Plate the bok choy and drizzle the sauce on top. Enjoy!
